When we planned the development of the Simon Memory Game, we wanted to use the simplest technology to implement the game. After exploring native Symbian, native iPhone and Qt, we decided to give phoneGap and Nokia Web Runtime a go.
Using simple html, css and javascript we managed to produce the game in a fraction of the time it would have taken should we used native operating systems. Next we wanted to find the best monetization method for the game. We explored various ad networks, compared pricing points for similar games and, eventually, decided to user innerActive ad optimization network. The results were impressive and during a period of more than a month we generated a revenue exceeding $80/day for the game.
Revenue: > $3000 in a month!
Bottom line, the game became profitable within one month.
